John W. Davidson III

Research Scientist, Freshwater Institute

John Davidson is a Research Scientist with the Freshwater Institute. He is responsible for managing research projects and for contributing to grant proposals and peer-reviewed and industry press publications spanning a broad range of topics, including fish production technologies, fish biology and physiological performance, water quality, off-flavor remediaton techniques, and sustainable aquafeeds. John has worked for the Freshwater Institute for more than 20 years, publishing numerous research and industry articles focused on fish production in recirculating aquaculture systems, earning him Intrafish’s 40 under 40 Award in 2016 and multiple Superior Paper Awards from the Aquacultural Engineering Society. John holds a Dr. Philos. from the University of Bergen, Norway, a Master of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Resources from West Virginia University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Shepherd University.
