Matthew Rouse
Faith and Food Coordinator, Resourceful Communities
Matthew works with faith coalitions and rural churches to support local food economies and food ministries. Since serving local churches in various capacities for the past fifteen years, he brings a unique perspective to faith-rooted groups around innovative approaches to accomplish their goals, build partnerships, and embrace opportunities to help their churches and communities strive and thrive.
Matthew joined Resourceful Communities as Faith and Food Coordinator in 2022. He grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from NC A&T State University, and a Master of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity School, where he is also completing his doctorate. He has served as a Project Engineer and most recently as a Missionary Baptist pastor in rural NC for the past ten years. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two sons.
