Our Conservation Leadership Network and strategic conservation teams convened multiple community focus group meetings to get input on environmental priorities from agencies and local communities. We also gathered work groups with leaders from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and other lead agencies. As part of this effort, we identified important forest, wetland, water system, and natural heritage resources in the vicinity of the project and mapped a green infrastructure network to prioritize opportunities.
As transportation and infrastructure improvement unfolds across the country, our balanced approach to forging economic and environmental goals can play an important part. In Maryland, we’re establishing road maps for the future.
