The Associated Press, The Houston Chronicle, 8 February 2017 –  In an area known for an abundance of skyscraper-tall trees, this one stands above the rest. The Lufkin News reports the Texas A&M Forest Service recently confirmed a loblolly pine on the T.L.L. Temple Foundation Boggy Slough Conservation Area west of Lufkin as the largest of its kind in the state.
