Giving Tuesday 2021 Inspires Double the Donations

Less than 10 years ago, a few charities pioneered a new concept—they designated the Tuesday following Thanksgiving as Giving Tuesday, a day dedicated to giving back. Once a little-known holiday, it is now a global movement celebrated in more than 70 countries. Since its launch in 2012, Giving Tuesday has become a cornerstone of philanthropic giving. In 2020, it inspired an estimated 34.8 million people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity. Giving Tuesday’s reputation continues to grow each year and is now often mentioned in the same breath as Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

As the Giving Tuesday movement has grown, so have Giving Tuesday donations to The Conservation Fund. We raised $3,000 in our first year participating, and we remain very grateful to generous donors who contributed over $70,000 last year. We look forward to celebrating Giving Tuesday this week and we hope you will join us and continue protecting America’s important landscapes.

Giving Tuesday is tomorrow, November 30, 2021, and we are celebrating early with the kick-off of our match campaign: In honor of Giving Tuesday, our Board members have challenged us to raise $100,000 and they will match it, dollar-for-dollar*! That means the impact of your online gift made between November 28 and December 1, 2021, will go twice as far.

We are setting this big goal for Giving Tuesday because our work has never been more important. We are combating some of the greatest environmental challenges facing the United States today—climate change, resource depletion, habitat loss, and more. From wide open spaces to bustling cities, we find sustainable solutions that help build a smarter, greener future for all.

No matter what motivates you to give, you can trust that your donation will be put to good use in conservation projects across the country. We remain committed to putting more than 95% of our annual spending to conservation programs. Thanks to you, we have accomplished so much already—protecting more than 8.5 million acres across all 50 states. But nature still needs us.
