See how The Conservation Fund and Goldman Sachs worked together to issue the nation’s first green bond solely dedicated to conserving and protecting working forests in the United States.

Over the past three decades, the United States has lost 36 million acres of forest land—that is the size of New York State. And we continue to lose over a million acres of forest each year to fragmentation and development. We are working with Goldman Sachs to protect our nation’s forests while increasing economic opportunities.

Through the Working Forest Fund, we focus on our nation’s forests, one of the only truly renewable resources we have in this country. Forests provide clean air, clean water and wildlife habitat. They also offset 15% of our nation’s carbon emissions and provide and support 8.6 million jobs in rural communities.
