Mark Elsbree, the Conservation Fund’s senior vice president, said the work of Luke Lynch, the Wyoming director for the fund who died on Mount Moran in May, led to easements on nearly 21 square miles of ranchland down the highway from Bondurant.e.

Baker Sanctuary here has recently qreceived an additional 80 acres of protected lands thanks to a $180,000 grant, a collaboration with The Conservation Fund and Ducks Unlimited. The new area will be closed to the public to protect the sensitive species that breed there.

UW researchers produced the “Red Desert to Hoback Mule Deer Migration Assessment,” which led to improved conservation of the longest-known movement of mule deer in the United States.
